Ok, one bright thought

Though the world is collapsing around us, we know
  • Patriot act 2 will be enacted
  • Patriot act 1 will be extended
  • Reinquist, O'Connor, Stevens, and perhaps Ginsberg will all retire this term
  • Roe v. Wade will be repealed
  • The gay marriage ban amendment will go in
  • War with Iran, nearly inevatable, perhaps Syria as well
  • Internment camps? A great idea who's time has come again!
  • Stem cell research in CA will be like medicinal marijuana in CA, sure its legal in CA, but not under federal law. Federal prisons are nice, ask Martha
  • Ken Lay, Gary Winnick, Bernie Ebbers, and other miscreants will go unpunished
  • More tax cuts for the rich! ("Don't tax the rich, they'll get out of it, tax the hard working people because they're dumbasses and won't figure it out")
But there is one little glimmer of light.

Remember way back to the 1970s. Ok, or remember reading about it in history. We once upon a time had a little revolution. Nixon was re-elected (by a landslide actually) and things looked bleak. Unpopular war, crackdown on dissidents, spying on Americans.

Then something funny happened. The Vice President (Spiro Agenew) was forced to resign over a scandal. Then the Republican Speaker of the Republican controlled House of Representatives became VP. Then the president was forced to resign amid an impeachment hearing in the REPUBLICAN CONTROLLED HOUSE. Yes, those were different times, but all we need to do is keep our eye on the ball. We need to not let this go away. We need to go for broke and hold Bush accountable for all his wrongdoings.

I know its far fetched. But if you beleive, and enough people believe, we may be able to get him yet. Before our citizenship request to canada is approved.
